How to clean your washing machine with white vinegar ?

Marius' recipe :

To realize out this cleaning of washing machine you need:

  • Marius Fabre bicarbonate of soda
  • Marius Fabre white vinegar
  • A basin
  • A sponge
  • An old toothbrush
  • A clean rag/tea towel

Step 1 : Cleaning the rubber seals.

This first step is very important in cleaning your washing machine. Very often forgotten, the seals of your machine recover wash after wash all the impurities: hair, animal hair, threads, lint from sweaters etc...

To properly clean the seals of your washing machine, prepare a mixture of hot water, white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda in your basin. Run your sponge over the most accessible areas and finish off with the finishes with your toothbrush.

Rinse with clear water without lingering on it. A complete wash will be done afterwards.

Step 2 : Cleaning the product tray.

As the machine is used, deposits of detergent, softener and washing powder leave traces in the product bin. Very often independent of the washing machine, you can remove it entirely for a more efficient cleaning.

In your basin, place your product tray, fill with hot water and white vinegar (60% water and 40% white vinegar). Let it sit for a good 15 minutes, then scrub the remaining residue with the help of a sponge or an old toothbrush.

Step 3 : Cleaning your drum.

Once the impurities in the seal and the product bin have been washed, you can move on to cleaning the drum of your washing machine. Pour 1L of white vinegar and half a mustard glass of bicarbonate of soda directly into the drum of your machine. Then run your washing machine on the longest cycle at high temperature. Bacteria they will have only to stan well !

Step 4 : Cleaning the exterior of your washing machine.

Once the previous steps are completed, all that remains is to clean the outside of your washing machine. To do this, fill a basin with hot water and pour in about 1/4 of white vinegar (dose according to the amount of water).  Then, using your sponge, clean the accessible areas of your washing machine without forgetting the window if you have one. Finally, rinse with clear water and wipe with a clean rag.

Your cleaning process is now complete. Your washing machine has been given a facelift and is ready to run for many more years ! Don't forget to repeat this process once or twice a year.
