During the summer holidays, take advantage of your visit to Provence to step through the doors of the Marius Fabre soap factory in Salon-de-Provence. Since 1900, our family business has perpetuated the traditional manufacturing of authentic Marseille soap and olive oil black soap, in the heart of a place that is still in operation.

An immersion behind the scenes of Marseille soap
During the guided tour, you will discover the unique atmosphere of our manufacturing workshops and the main stages of producing authentic Marseille soap. A moment of exchange and discovery to better understand this know-how passed down from generation to generation within the Fabre family.
Young and old alike will be able to dive into the history of an everyday product that has become a true symbol of Provence: Marseille soap.
Free guided tours all summer long
This summer, free guided tours take place from Monday to Saturday:
- in the morning, from 9:30 AM to 12 PM, with a departure every 30 minutes;
- in the afternoon, from 2 PM to 6 PM, with a departure every 30 minutes.
It is advisable to arrive fifteen minutes before the start of the tour. Online booking is also recommended so you can choose your time slot with complete peace of mind.
Extend the experience at the Marseille Soap Museum
After visiting the workshops, take the time to discover the Marseille Soap Museum, located in the heart of the soap factory. With free admission, it retraces the history of Marseille soap and its manufacturing through the objects, tools and mementos that bear witness to this living heritage.
The museum is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 6:30 PM.
Special openings on selected Sundays
To allow as many people as possible to discover the soap factory during the summer holidays, special openings are also scheduled on Sundays July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9 and August 16.
On these days, guided tours will be offered at 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, then in the afternoon at 3 PM, 4 PM and 5 PM. A great opportunity to enjoy a Sunday outing in Provence and discover the behind-the-scenes of authentic Marseille soap production.
