After three shops in Paris and Salon-de-Provence, it's now the turn of the Camargue capital to welcome this emblematic Provencal craftsman's house, which has specialised in making genuine Marseille soap for over 120 years.
Faithful to the spirit of the other boutiques, this new address recreates the world of the family soap factory and its production workshops. Shelves inspired by the canisses used to dry the soap cubes, stamps to mark the soap, a water fountain, family photos... This Arles-based showcase shares part of the family history and presents Marseille soap in all its forms, black soap with olive oil, as well as the natural products and cosmetics ranges.
Arles & the Camargue, in the footsteps of Marius
With the opening of this boutique, Julie and Marie Bousquet-Fabre are demonstrating their attachment to the land of the Camargue, so dear to their great-grandfather Marius and their grandfather Henri. Alongside his soap-making business, Henri Fabre, son of Marius, began growing rice here in 1945, and founded a Camargue horse farm, the Manade Fabre.
"Opening a shop in Arles has a profound meaning for the Fabre soap factory and our family. Marius' attachment to the Camargue was passed on to his son Henri, our grandfather. We grew up in this family farmhouse on the banks of the Rhône and are now very proud to open this new boutique in the heart of Arles. Julie and Marie Bousquet-Fabre, great-granddaughters of Marius Fabre.
