Marseille soap flakes, 300g, palm oil free
Made according to a special family recipe handed down from generation to generation in the Fabre family, our real Marseille soap shavings are perfectly dried and dehydrated at the end of the manufacturing process, giving them unrivalled quality. Our 300g bag of Marseille soap flakes will enable you to make your first "homemade washing powder". It's economical and environmentally friendly, so you can make up to 10 litres of washing powder.
In Salon-de-Provence, we've been making traditional Marseille soap, cooked in a cauldron, for four generations of the family since 1900. Guaranteed dye-free, palm oil-free, fragrance-free and additive-free, our Marseille soap flakes are recommended for gentle, effective washing of all textiles, especially delicate fabrics (baby linen, wool, silk, lace, etc.). They are hypoallergenic and phosphate-free. Making your own washing powder with our Marseille soap shavings also means limiting the irritations and allergies that can be caused by traditional detergents.
Making your own washing powder with this bag of Marius Fabre Marseille soap flakes will save you up to 10 litres of washing powder, or almost 5 months' washing powder.
For even more savings, consider our 750g box of Marseille soap flakes and use up to 1 year's worth of detergent!
What's more, it only takes a few minutes to make your own washing powder. Take a look at our recipe in our blog post: "How to make an eco-friendly homemade detergent with Marseille soap".

100% vegetable oils (oleic sunflower oil, coconut oil)
No colourants, fragrances or preservatives
No chemical additives
No palm oil
30% plus soap (Sodium Sunflowerseedate, Sodium Cocoate)
Also contains: Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium chloride, Sodium hydroxide
The glycerine in our Marseille soaps is not added, but is naturally contained in the vegetable oil. After 10 days of cooking and numerous rinses, only a tiny fraction remains. Authentic Marseille soap, made using the traditional process, is in fact a non-glycerinated soap.
The ingredient 'glycerin' is nevertheless mentioned in the list of ingredients on our soaps, because traces of it remain. The new cosmetics regulations require all ingredients, even traces, to be indicated in the list of ingredients.
Reusable cotton bag.
Net weight: 300g
How do you make your homemade detergent with Marius Fabre Marseille soap flakes?
With our palm oil-free soap shavings formula, we advise you to proceed as follows to make your detergent:
1. Put a small handful or 30g of shavings at the bottom of your detergent can.
2. Pour very hot water over the shavings to melt them (start with 1/2 litre).
3. Shake well
4. Pour in another 1/2 litre of very hot water to make 1 litre of detergent.
5. Shake well
6. Your detergent is ready!
Because of its natural formula, the detergent may be a little out of phase. Simply shake the can vigorously to mix again.
When you make your detergent with our palm oil-free Marseille soap shavings, you may notice a difference in appearance, colour or thickness (viscosity) compared with the old formula (with palm oil). This is perfectly normal, as the oleic sunflower oil that replaces palm oil is a fluid oil (like olive oil), and slightly darker. The quality of the detergent and its washing power are unchanged. It is just as effective and even more environmentally friendly.
